Community forum on racial justice scheduled for September in Peoria
Peoria, IL – The Peoria City/County Joint Commission on Racial Justice and Equity (RJE) will host a Community Forum on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alpha Park Public Library, 3527 South Airport Road, Bartonville, IL 61607. Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, the intersection of E Arcadia Avenue and N Wisconsin Avenue will close to all traffic. The closure is necessary for storm sewer installation and pavement reconstruction work and is scheduled to last until Thanksgiving.

Harker Drive and Pioneer Parkway intersection to undergo changes starting Aug. 26
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, the intersection of N Harker Drive and W Pioneer Parkway will be modified to a right-in, right-out configuration. The bi-directional turn lane on Pioneer Parkway at the Harker Drive intersection will also be closed.

Sidewalk removal work underway at key Peoria intersections
Sidewalk removal work has commenced at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and NE Adams Street, near the Peoria County Courthouse. Work is also ongoing at the intersections of Fulton Plaza and SW Adams Street. The sidewalks near 123 and 201 SW Adams Street currently have limited pedestrian access.
